The Special Service Bureau (now Sashastra Seema Bal) was founded in May 1963 (53 years ago).It is known as the premier intelligence agency for Indo-Nepal. SSB’s present charter of duties is to:
#Safeguard the security of assigned borders of India and promote sense of security among the people living in border areas.
#Prevent trans-border crimes, smuggling and any other illegal activities.
#Prevent unauthorized entry into or exit from the territory of India.
#Carry out civic action programme in the area of responsibility.
#Perform any other duty assigned by the Central Government.(SSB is being deployed for Law & Order, Counter Insurgency Operations and Election duty)
Eligibility Criteria For SSB Constable (GD) Recruitment 2017
Educational Qualifications:
Candidates should have passed Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized board and Players who have participated in any International Sports events as a member of the Indian Squad for last 01 (One) year and players who have won medal(s) in any National Games/ Championships recognized by Indian Olympic Association, Sports Federation of concerned sport for last 01(One) year i.e. in between 01.04.2016 to 31.03.2017.
Age limit:
Candidates should have minimum age limit is 18 years and maximum age limit is 23 years. Age relaxation applicable 05 years for Un-reserved, 10 years for SC/ST, 08 years For OBC.
Application Fee:
For the Post of Constable (GD) in SSB Applicants must pay
Rs.100/ – towards application fee through Demand Draft/ IPO/ Banker Cheque.
Candidates who are willing to pay by DD/ Banker Cheque should be drawn in favor
of Accounts Officer, FHQ, SSB, New Delhi payable at State Bank of India, R.K.
Puram, New Delhi Branch Code-01076. Candidates who pay by IPO should be drawn
in favor of Accounts Officer, FHQ, SSB, New Delhi payable at New Delhi.SC/ ST/
Female candidate are exempted from fee payment.
How to apply:
Eligible and desirous candidates should send their application form duly filled in the prescribed format addressed to the Assistant Director (Sports) Force Hqr. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), East Block-V, R.K. Puram, New Delhi – 110066. The envelope containing application must be superscribed in block letters as “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF CONSTABLE (GD) UNDER SPORTS QUOTA – 2016-17 & 2017-18”.
Selection process based on performance in the Bio-metric examination, Documentation, Physical standard test (PST) and Medical test.

#Last Date for receipt of Application form for Far Flung Areas: Within 45 days from the date of employment notification.
