ELIGIBILITY:
A practicing Advocate as on the date of notification with not less than 7 years standing at the Bar (as on 01.04.2017).
AGE LIMIT:
Not exceeding 45 years as on 01.04.2017. Upper age limit relaxations applicable as per norms.
HOW TO APPLY:
Eligible candidates can apply in the prescribed format. Candidates required to enclose attested copies of relevant certificates and DD for Rs. 300/- in favour of the "Registrar (Recruitment), High Court of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad, payable at Hyderabad. SC, ST candidates are exempted from payment of fee. Candidates should submit their applications to the Chief Secretary to Government (Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana) according to the state they belong to, not later than 30.04.2017. Envelope must be super-scribed with "Application for appointment to the post of District Judge (Entry Level) in the State Judicial Service", under Direct Recruitment.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Selection of the candidates will be based on Written Examination and Interview.
Written Test (80 Marks)
#Objective Questions with MCQ (20 marks),
# Subjective/ Narrative (60 marks),
Interview (20 Marks)
#Viva Voice (20 marks).
MINIMUM QUALIFYING MARKS TO BE SECURED:
As per sub-rule (4) of Rule 6 of the Andhra Pradesh State Judicial Service Rules, 2007, the written examination is for 80 marks and the viva voce is for 20 marks. The minimum qualifying marks in the written examination for OC 40%, BC 35% and ST category is 30%. There are no minimum marks for the viva voce.
SYLLABUS:
1. Procedural Laws - Civiland Criminal Laws and Law of Evidence.
2. Law concerning tenancy including Land Reforms, Ceiling, Land
Acquisition Laws etc.
3. All State Laws.
4. Constitutional Law and Administrative Law.
5. Substantive Laws, such as Transfer of Property Act, Indian Penal Code, Contract Act, Motor Vehicles Act, Specific ReliefAct etc.
6. Laws of Inheritance, Succession, Marriage and Divorce.
7. Protection of Civil Rights Act, 1955 and the Scheduled Castes
and the Scheduled Tribes (Preventionof Atrocities)Act, 1989.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Candidates are expected to be present at the examination hall
30 minutes before the examination.
2. Candidates are prohibited from bringing Notebooks or loose sheets of papers, cell phones and other objectionable material to the examination hall.
3. The candidates should produce the hall ticket-cum-identity card (affixing the recent passport size photo) duly attested by the Gazetted Officer of the Court where he/she received the Hall Ticket.
4. No TA and DA will be paid for attending the written examination.
