Eligibility Criteria For JIPMER M.Sc./ PBD/ M.P.H./ Ph.D. Entrance Exam 2017 (August)
For M.Sc Nursing
#Passed the qualification of B.Sc. Nursing Degree of this Institute or any other University accepted as equivalent thereof.
#Should have registered with the State Registration Council of Nursing and Mid-wifery.
#B.Sc.Nursing graduate should have one year of experience in a hospital or in a College or in a School of Nursing or in Community Health Program after registration in State Nursing Council.
#Minimum of one year of work experience prior or after Post-basic B.Sc. Nursing.
#In case of male candidate, they should have passed any other course recommended by Indian
#Nursing Council in the place of Mid-wifery. Those who have studied Midwifery only are eligible for admission to Branch II and V.
#Candidate shall be medically fit.
#Candidates who have obtained Post Basic B.Sc.Nursing (P.B. B.Sc.Nursing) qualification from
#Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) are NOT eligible for admission to M.Sc.(Nursing) course at JIPMER.
For M.Sc. Allied Medical Sciences
#M.Sc. Medical Biochemistry -Applicant should have qualified in a 3 year B.Sc. Degree Examination of a recognized University with Biochemistry or Chemistry as main subject with Biology / Botany / Zoology as ancillary subject OR candidates with B.Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized University.
#M.Sc. MLT – Microbiology – Applicants should have qualified in a 3 years B.Sc. Degree Examination of a recognized University with Microbiology / Biotechnology as main subject with Biology / Botany / Zoology as ancillary subject OR B.Sc. Zoology OR Candidates with B.Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized university.
#M.Sc. MLT –Pathology – Applicants should have qualified in a 3 years B.Sc. Degree Examination of a recognized University with Medical Lab Technology / Biotechnology as main subject with Biology / Botany / Zoology as ancillary subject OR B.Sc. Zoology.
#M.Sc. Medical Physiology – Applicants should have qualified in a 3 years B.Sc. Degree Examination of a recognized University with Physiology / Biotechnology as main subject with Biology / Botany / Zoology as ancillary subject OR B.Sc. Zoology OR Candidates with B.Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized university.
#M.Sc. Biostatistics (Medical Biometrics) – A Candidate who has passed the Degree Examination in B.Sc. degree in Statistics (Major) OR B.Sc. degree in Mathematical Science with Statistics as a subject from any recognized University OR an examination of some other University accepted by the institute as equivalent thereto shall be eligible for admission.
For Post Basic Diploma in Nursing
#Must be a registered nurse (R.N. & R.M.) or equivalent.
#Possess Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery with one year experience as Staff Nurse or B.Sc.Nursing or equivalent.
#The prescribed experience will be calculated only after obtaining the license from the state nursing council.
Age Limit:
The Upper age limit is 40 years as on 24.05.2017 which is the last date of Close of Online Registration i.e. they should have born on or after 24.05.1977 and the age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Service candidates are as per Government rules
For Master of Public Health (MPH)
#Any applicant with qualification of M.B.B.S Degree / B.D.S (Dental) / B.E., /B.Tech,( Any Branch), (B.Sc. (Nursing) / B.V.Sc. (Veterinary Science) / AYUSH / Allied Health or Social Sciences of any recognized University / Statutory Body, in first attempt with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
#TWO years of completed work experience in public health system is desirable (on or before 31.07.2017).
#Medical / Nursing Graduates should have registered with their respective state Registration Council.
For Ph.D
Qualification as given below with a minimum of 55% or equivalent grade in any one of the following examinations.
*M.Sc. / M. Phil. Degree / PG degree in any branch of Life Sciences of a recognized
University.(OR)
*M.B.B.S. Degree of recognized University.(OR)
*DM/M.Ch./MD/DNB or equivalent Degree.(OR)
*Qualified in any one of the three National Eligibility Tests (NET) for Ph.D.
JRF under DBT/DST/ICMR /UGC.
JRF qualified candidates also have to submit application through online process. However they need not appear for the entrance test. They will be placed in the merit order based on their scores along with the candidates who have appeared for JIPMER Entrance Test and will be counseled for their option. The candidates can choose any one of the discipline available for the Ph.D. Programs at the time of counseling.
Exam Pattern for JIPMER Entrance Exam 2017
The examination shall be conducted in ENGLISH medium ONLY.
1.Entrance Examination will be conducted through a Computer Based Test (CBT) [Online] only.
2.The examination shall be held on Sunday, 25th JUNE, 2017
3.The duration of the examination shall be 1½ hours (One Hour and Thirty minutes).
4.The Online (CBT) Entrance Examination will be conducted in Single shift as detailed below:
*P.B.D Course :- 10.00 AM to 11.30 AM
*M.Sc/M.P.H/Ph.D Course :- 02.00 P.M to 03.30 PM
5.Therefore all candidates will be required to appear at CBT Online Entrance Examination, which will be conducted on Sunday, 25th JUNE, 2017
6.The venue and time of the examination will be mentioned in the Admit Card
7.No candidate will be permitted to appear in the examination unless he/she holds a valid “Admit Card” issued by the Institute and a proof of their identification.
8.The Entrance Examination is common to all and consists of 100 single best response type MCQs having four alternatives and the questions will be asked from concerned subjects to the respective course

Applicant can opt only for THREE EXAM CITIES.
The allotment of Exam City would be as per the order of preference clicked by applicant during on-line registration on a FIRST-CUM-FIRST served basis.
Normally the first preference would be allotted. JIPMER, depending upon local conditions, reserves the right to allot any other Exam City other than the preferences given by the applicant.
