As the start of new academic year 2017-2018,  the government will finish up the admission process within few days from the issue of notification. The candidates who make through the entrance examination will be given admission into VI. There are about 193 model schools spread across the Telangana State and each model school has 100 seats divided into two sections. The medium of instructions in model schools totally in English.

Telangana Model Schools Entrance Test 2017: TS Model School entrance test notification 2017 has been issued by the Commissioner and School Education Department officials on 06/01/2017 for admission into 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th Classes in Model Schools in Telangana for the academic year 2017-2018 and the applications are invited from eligible candidates through online mode for appearing the TS Model Schools Admission Test 2017, which will be conducted on February 26th, 2017 as per their schedule.

The entrance test will be conducted at each mandal head quarters in all districts of Telangana. The examination is likely to have objective questions from Mathematics, Telugu and English. The admissions will be done taking mandal as a unit and those students who domicile from the mandal or studied in the particular mandal in any recognized institution are excursively eligible to apply for the entrance for admission into the Model Schools.

The Model Schools Scheme is meant for catering to the needs of Educationally Backward Mandals to provide quality education on Kendriya Vidyalaya template.Model School Concept is basically a Model School will have infrastructure and facilities of the same standard as in Kendriya Vidyalayas and with stipulations on pupil-teacher ratio, ICT usage, holistic educational environment, appropriate curriculum and emphasis on output and outcome. The Government had taken this a challenging task to compete with the CBSE schools. The medium of instructions in model schools totally in English. Model Schools were the brain child of Union Government and were set up in the most back ward mandals of the district. All the students who domicile from the mandal or studied in the particular mandal in any recognized institution are exclusively eligible for admission into the Model Schools.

#Eligibility for TS Model Schools Entrance Test 2017:
1. The students, those who were passed VI, VII, VIII and IX classes  are eligible for applying for VII, VIII,IX and X classes(Vacant Seats) into Model Schools for this academic year 2017-2018.
2. Students studying in Telugu / English Medium are eligible to appear for the Entrance Test.
3. The student should have studied continuously in the respective district for the two academic years (2015-16 and 2016-17) in a Government school or in a school recognized by the Government.
3. Parental Income should not exceed Rupees One Lakh per annum.
4. The candidates can apply to any Telangana Model School of the district for which he / she belongs.

#Age limit:
a) For 7th Class: SC / ST students should have born between 01.09.2002 to 31.08.2006 and  OC / BC / SC-Converted Christians (BC-C) should have born between 01.09.2004 to 31.08.2006.
b) For 8th Class: 1. SC / ST students should have born between 01.09.2001 to 31.08.2005.
2. OC / BC / SC-Converted Christians (BC-C) should have born between 01.09.2003 to 31.08.2005
c) For 9th Class: SC / ST students should have born between 01.09.2000 to 31.08.2004 and  OC / BC / SC-Converted Christians (BC-C) should have born between 01.09.2002 to 31.08.2004.

d) For 10th Class: 1. SC / ST students should have born between 01.09.1999 to 31.08.2003.
2. OC / BC / SC-Converted Christians (BC-C) should have born between 01.09.2001 to 31.08.2003 

#Selection of Process:/Admission Procedure:
Admission for 7th to 10th classes shall be done as per the procedure followed by TSMS. While doing this, the candidates from the same Mandal where Model School is functioning, will be given preference. Admissions will be done on the basis of a written test/ entrance test.


#Entrance Test/Registration Fee:
for BC/ SC/ST Students -Rs.50/-
for Other means OC Students: Rs.100/-. Fee can be paid or through payment gateway

#How to Apply:
Eligible Students can apply through online mode  through www.telanganams.cgg.gov.in. After Submission of online application the same print copy for admission must be submitted to the concerned Principal of Telangana model school in which the candidate is seeking admission.

#Mode of Entrance Test/Exam pattern:
The Entrance test will be of objective type and multiple choice questions from Class 5th/6th/7th/8th/9th i.e The Q.P. will be objective type based on 5th/6th/7th/8th/9th class Syllabi and the Question Paper have Four Parts.
Allocation of marks
Part-I: Telugu - 25 marks
Part-II: Maths - 25 marks,
Part-III: EVS I and II-25 marks and
Part-IV: English -25 marks
Total Marks : 100 Marks.
The total marks for the test are 100 and duration of 2.00 hours (i.e) from 10.00 AM to 12.00 Noon for 6th and 2 pm to 4 pm to 6th/7th/8th/9th classes.
