Age Limit Relaxation time limit extended up to 30-09-2017. AP government relaxes upper age limit to 40 years for direct recruitment, orders valid till September 30, 2017: The AP government has issued orders relaxing the maximum age limit which is raised by ‘six years’ i.e., from 34 to 40 years for the purpose of direct recruitment to the various categories of posts to be notified by all the recruiting agencies in the State of Andhra Pradesh.
However the upper age limit is raised by 2 years for uniform services of Police, Excise, Fire, Prisons and Forest Departments for which physical standards have been prescribed for the ensuing direct recruitments through the APPSC and other recruiting agencies.
The orders are valid up to September 30, 2017 and the Gazette notification to this effect has been issued. The age concession over and above the upper age limit shall also be allowed to the reserved categories as provided under Rule 12 of the A.P. State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996.

ORDER:
In continuation of orders issued in the 1st and 2nd read above, Government after careful examination of the matter, hereby decided for Uniform services to be notified by the A.P. Public Service Commission and other Recruiting Agencies (other than those to be notified by the Police Recruitment Board) the upper age limit prescribed in relevant rules is increased by two years. This is valid up to 30.09.2017. Age concession over and above the upper age limit shall also be allowed to the categories as provided under Rule 12 of the A.P. State and Subordinate Service Rules,
1996.
Accordingly, the following notification will be published in the A.P. Gazette.

In the G.O. read above, an ad-hoc rule was issued as follows:
“Notwithstanding anything contained in the A.P. State & Subordinate Service Rules, 1996 or in the Special Rules or in the Adhoc Rules for any State service or Subordinate service, the maximum age limit prescribed in the said rules for appointment by direct recruitment shall be raised by ‘ six years’ i.e., from 34 to 40 years for the purpose of direct recruitment to the various categories of posts to be notified from the issuance of this G.O. and up to 30.09.2016 by all the recruiting agencies in the State of Andhra Pradesh. The age concession over and above the upper age limit shall also be allowed to the categories as provided under Rule 12 of the A.P. State and Subordinate Service Rules,
1996.
Provided that nothing in this rule shall apply for direct recruitment to the posts of uniformed services of Police, Excise, Fire, Prisons and Forest Departments for which physical standards have been prescribed in the State and Subordinate Service Rules or in the relevant special or adhoc rules” .
2. Government have now decided to extend the above adhoc rule for further period of one year i.e., upto 30.09.2017.
Accordingly, the following notification will be published in the A.P. Gazette.
